Eight new businesses making circular living easier
From a lending service for household appliances to sustainable fashion labelling, eight new Irish businesses are being supported to make it easier than ever to go circular.
The government-funded Circular Ventures Accelerator programme, operated by Circuleire, will this year work with a new cohort of companies to make sustainable and circular services easier to access and more widespread.
This year’s cohort comprises:
Anaula, which transforms distillery wastewater into algae-based fertiliser and feed.
Bean Around, which turns used coffee grounds into high value-added cosmetics products.
Circular Food Co, making “high-value ingredients” from food manufacturing waste.
EcoRoots, which combines biology with digital optimisation “to deliver mycelium-based circular packaging solutions”.
Hibra Design, which is focused on battery-electric powertrains.
HomePerk, which is aiming to embed circular household practices through lending and sharing.
Kinset, which is driving circularity in fashion through labelling and supply-chain traceability.
Mesh BioPlastics, which is “developing plant-based alternatives to single-use medical plastics”.
Started in 2020, the Circuleire programme has so far supported 26 ventures, with a total of €130,000 provided in equity-free funding.
